ScrapFIT Workout #42

Good morning!  Today we have our newest Workout at ScrapFIT!

Workout #42 - Back In The Day
We often seem to concentrate on scrapbooking our current photos but for this workout we are going to dig out an old photo!  Pull out the box under your bed and find a picture of you as a kid (any age)!  Its important to scrapbook the past as well as the present! Lets see what look you give this page, will it be a vintage look or how about a retro 80’s look???

We are so honored to be be sponsored by this month by
Sweet Peach Crop Shop!  They are an incredible kit club that is celebrating their one year anniversary!  I have personally purchased their kits (love them!) and I am also helping them celebrate their anniversary as a members of their Anniversary Design Team.

Sweet Peach Crop Shop has generously donated 2 of their specialty Anniversary Kits to us this month!  I have been playing around with this kit and it is packed full of goodies! I will be sure to share some of my creations with this kit as the month goes on.

I really enjoyed digging out an older photo for this Workout, it make me think outside the box.

To create this layout I used my April Kit from Scrapbook Circle - its full of fun bring colors!  I needed a little inspiration to get this page started so I headed over to Sketchy Thursday and was TOTALY inspired by their May GDT Challenge

The last thing I was inspired to thanks again to Scrapbook Circle was to create a card with my left overs from this layout!

Guest Spot at Sweet Peach Crops

Today is the start of my Guest Spot at Sweet Peach Crop Shop!  I am so excited to be joining them for the whole month to celebrate their  1yr Anniversary!

I have been lucky enough to be given their special Anniversary Kit to create with this month!  I just LOVE this kit, its packed full of scrappy goodness!

Today is the first reveal of one of the layouts I created.

This kit had lots of the new Toy Box collection from Crate Paper and I was so excited to play around with it!  There was soooo much paper in the kit that I cut it up and punched it to make lots of my own embelishments.  My most favorite part of the kit are the starts! They are awesome! I added a little twine to the inside of this one to give it a whole new look.
I hope you like what you see and be sure to stop over to the Sweet Peach Crop Shop to get your own kit! While your their be sure to play along with all the contest we have going on all month long!

Think Spring with Paper Issues and Blog Hop Winner

We are starting a new party over at Paper Issues today!
We are celebrating with Spring / Easter paper crafts!

I created this to Welcome Spring!

To start this project I was inspired by a collage of pictures challenge at Candy Shoppe Designs It was fun to try a challenge like that! So many great ideas from one set of pictures.  I bought the wreath at the dollar store and cut a piece of heavy card-stock to use as backing. I then used a great kit from Scrapbook Circle and few other things I had to doll it up!

Be sure to join us at Paper Issues and share with us your Spring / Easter inspirations!

Now we have a winner from the Paper Issues Blog Hop here on my blog! Thank you to all of you for sharing your favorite new items!
The winner is

Khristen .... who said
"I think lately my fave item is twine, although all i currently have is your run-of-the-mill brown. Time to stock up on all of the colors I've seen hopping around in bloggy-land! Love your layout, that airplane at the top is amazing! Happily following. Thanks for the chance to win :)"

Email me at szenger@twcny.rr.com with your mailing address and I will get your goodies out to you!

Here we go!  As always, click on the pictures for more info!

Coupon Diva's has a great new feature called the Coupon Database.  Before you head out to get groceries use their search feature on their website to quickly search their online database for coupons for items you will be purchasing.  Its easy and it will save you money!

The Brave Girls Club is an incredible place!  I recommend signing up for their "Daily Truth' email, its an inspiring reminder each day to be who you are and it will help you remember whats really important and how to get through tough times.

I found this blog recently and this girls has so many wonderful ideas!!! I just love her style and creativity!

This is my go-to recipe website!  You can search for a recipe by name or put in a few ingredients and see what recipes you could make!  Its so easy to save my favorite recipes to my online recipe box!  Enjoy

ScrapFIT Workout #41 and Tulle Flower Tutorial

Today we have a new Workout over at ScrapFIT!  Its Workout #41 'Stop and See The Flowers'.  The Design Team has created hand made flowers on their layouts and they are amazing!!!

You will also want to take some time this month to create your own layout with a hand made flower becuase ScrapFIT is giving away 2 kits from Sweet Peach Crop Shop!!!!  This kit is amazing! I am part of the Sweet Peach Anniversary team and I have been playing around with this kit and WOW! So much scrappy goodness packed in to one kit!

Today I have a turorial on how to create a tulle flower as you see on the layout  and card below.

Lets get started!
Today I am using a wonderful collection of Tulle from Glitz.
I have cut a section 5 inches by 5 1/2 inches.  If you would like to make a smaller or lager flower simply cut the fabric accordingly.

Gather your tulle in a line and put a coordinating thread or fiber through one end and then the other end. Do this twice, making two 'stitches' to pull the ends of the tulle together.

Your tulle should now be in the shape of a circle.  Pull tight on the fiber to secure the circle shape.

This next step will secure the bottom of the flower.  Using the fiber and needle that are still in your flower move to the middle of the flower and make one stitch from the bottom of one side of the tulle to the next.

Once you pull tight this will close the bottom of your flower.  Tie off each end of the fiber with a knot and trip off excess fiber.

Next us can get creative and fill in the middle of the flower with your personal touch.  I used a rose ribbon to accent the middle of this flower.

Enjoy!
