Paper Lovelies - New kit!

Paper Lovelies has released its newest kit and its delicious!

I has some great ideas for his kit and I am excited to share them with you.

I have several of these adorable 1/2 dozen egg cartons (not used of course) that I want to use for a holiday gift idea in the future.  However I decided to use one early to as packaging for my friends birthday gift - her birthday was on Easter this year!  I made sure to decorate both the outside and inside so she could use as display in her kitchen!  Her gift was hidden in side one of the tissue paper eggs I put in it :) She loved it!

My next project needs a little back story.  My parents used to owned a restaurant called Sara's Country Kitchen - you guessed it, named after me.  The restaurant was a home town dinner kind of place an they ran it for about 12 years.   A few weeks ago I spotted one of the old signs that used to hang out the out side of the restaurant in storage at my parents house.  I asked if I could have it to put on this very large empty wall I have in my kitchen!  Before I knew it they brought it down and helped me hang it up! I love it the old weathered look looks great in my kitchen!

Ok back to the Paper Lovelies kit!  I used this kit to create a shadow box with a few photos of the restaurant. I love how it turned out! I hung it right news the sign!

If you like what you see head on over to Paper Lovelies now to get your kit!

52 Weeks 52 Recipes - 3 New Recipes!

***If you are here for Diana's Hop Click HERE***

Sorry I have not been back in a while to up date you on my new recipes - time just got away from me! Also, with Easter I decided not to try anything new, just in case it was a flop! But I am back to day with 3 great recipes for you!

This was a yummy sweet treat that made the house smell good all day!  I bought a 1/2 bushel of apples while at a framers market with a friend so I needed to put those apples to good use.  This was easy and went well through out the week as a sweet treat with lunch or dinner.

Oh my word these taste delicious!  These did not last 2 days in my house. I love that you can make cookies out of a brownie mix with just a few extra ingredients. They are fast, easy and yummy!  In a pinch for a school snack day, bake sale or a little gift to cheer up a friend - this is your recipe!

This is a wonderful recipe that only requires 3 ingredients! Yup thats it, just 3 things!  I used home made meatballs but I think it would have been better with prem-ade ones because the the sauce was a bit over cooked becuase the meatballs started out raw.  I also did not have enough meatballs, this will make a big dish - love left overs.  I will make again but will pre-made meatballs.

More to come!

I Tossed My To-Do List Today!

For a portion of today I tossed my to-do list to the side! Yup, thats so not like me but I needed the unstructured time to re-charge my batteries.  I was able to create 2 layouts and I did it with mostly new products!  I think I have a new found love for washi tape and bright bold colors that remind me of the 80's!

I dug into my newest kit, Daydreamer from Scrapbook Circle and I love what I found. So many bright and bold papers and embellishments! I added some new washi tape and some of Hambleys (both from Paper Issues) newest overlays to complete the layout! I am loving all the new products.

I was inspired by the April sketch from Artful Delight to create this layout. It gave my layout great balance!

This photos is such a sign of the times to me.  Its funny how my son and his friends are drawn to the iPad! They could play it all day if I let them. Its part of their generation and I think there will be a day in their future where every kid will have one instead of text books!  I guess he just preparing for the future :)

Wait, I have one more layout to share!  I was on a roll with my free time!

I again started with my Scrapbook Circle Kit  and with this layout I joined in the current challenge at Scapbook Circle, to use frames. I love frames as you can see from my framed Polaroid photo and I framed my title. There are even a few hidden frames under all the layering - can find them? Its like and eye spy hunt! :)

This kit was also perfect for another challenge I stumbled across at The Play Date Cafe! They challenged you to use this BRIGHT color pallet!

I loved creating this layout with such a bold color scheme! I had to add a few hints of black for good measure but that just meant I got to use another new tape!

Thanks for stopping by to take a peak! I think I might have to do toss my to-do list more often :)

Authentique Challenge

Today I have a layout to share with you that I created with the Celebrate paper collection by Authentique and I was inspired by a current sketch challenge that Authentique has going on!

Here is the sketch - the hexagons were so inviting, I just had to give it a try!

I was drawn to this paper collection as soon as I saw it. I love the bright and bold colors mixed with the black/grey and whites.  This photo was just a photo I took by Cole's school before we hit the playground but I love his red shirt against the rough parts of the school.  It was fun to work with such a great sketch and paper collection all made by the same people!

Thanks for stopping by to take a look!

The Paper Variety

The Paper Variety has a fun and unique challenge this week - scraplift! That's right! Each of the designers chose another designer's project or tutorial to lift and we're asking you to do the same this week. How has The Paper Variety inspired YOU?

I was inspired my Holly's 3 demetional starts to be used and home decor.

I wish I could show you a picture of them however Holly's stars are out for publication and I cant show them here until they are published!  CONGRATS Holly!

But I can show you what I made.

Like Holly did, I made these on the Cricut with the star from the George cartridge. I cut 3 different sizes and then scored all the lines and just folded in and out on the scored lines to create the dimension.  I inked them and added some embellishments and these will look great set out for 4th of July decorations!

Sketch It Out Challenge at CK

I had a bit of in my craft room and on my to do list was to complete a layout with this sketch by Ashley Horton over at CK Club!  I love the sketch and there was a twist to use certain colors, 2 of which were yellow and navy!  I am in love with this color combo right now.

Here is what I came up with! I love this photo of Cole and I :)

I have to say I was inspired by a video from my scrappy friend Corrie Jones showcasing her very talented scrapbook layering skills!  The way she works on a layout gave me a different perspective and I took that route in making this layout.  I must say I am really happy with how it turned out and things came together easily!  If you have a few free mins check out Corrie's video - she does not even use a trimmer and only uses 6x6 paper packs - It was like a whole new world for me :)
