In Love With Fall (Scrapy Land)

Ahh, its Fall!  I just love fall with this beautiful natural colors, cool crisp air and lots of yummy food! My dear friend Diana shared her fall rule of thumb with, its ok to decorate for Fall after September 1st and so I did!

One of the many decorations I have up is one that I made.  I snuck this old frame from my mothers garage and cleaned it up (I love it!).  I added some copper wire to the back of it and found a great place to display it in my home.  Now its ready for me decorate for each season / holiday!

I received these great nesting Maple Leaf dies (by Life Style Crafts) from Scrapy Land.  I just loved how the varied in size.  I dug through my scraps to find fall colors and I just started running the leaf dies through my sizzix bigshot.  I took a hand full of the leaves and put them in an embossing folder to give them some fun texture.

I wanted my frame to make a statement so I cut the same size leaf out of thin cork (love cork) and then cut I (heart) Fall from my cricut.  I used mini close pins to randomly put my leaves on the frame.  I love these piece and I cant wait to keep decorating it!

I don't keep this on my front door but this was the best place to a take a photo in good lightning!  :)

These dies are must have for any fall lover be sure to head over to Scrapy Land to snag yours today!

Summer Lovin (Birds of a Feather)

Well the fun of summer is coming to and end here in Northern NY so I had to get one last summer layout in before the leaves started to change!

This is my final layout with the September kit from Birds of a Feather and I am so lovin it!  I started of with a great 'splash' picture of my son in the pool that I took on my phone.  I am in love with Instagram and Postal Pix for phone photo taking and printing!   I went with smaller size layout for this fun sized photo.  You will noticed that on the right hand side is the packaging from the kits Prima embellishments - its to pretty not to use!

Well, good bye summer it was a nice season but I am ready for fall!

Halloween Banner

I just love the fall and I adore decorating for fall!  I am big fan of banners (as you know) and I realized I had not created a fall banner!!!  I hoped right to it since the season is upon us!

I was rummaging through my Halloween Cricut Cartridges and stumbled upon this sassy little with and knew that was just what I wanted!   I also was eager to use the new spider web die from Spellbinders that I got from Scrapy Land and it was the perfect addition to the ends of the banner.

I will be working on a few more home made Halloween decorations, so stay tuned!

Keeping FIT with a FITkit

OMG, I am in LOVE with the September FITkit!  I had a chance to create with it and its stunning!

These paper really and embellies will leave you wanting more! Here is how I worked out this weekend!

I love this chevron paper,  I wish I had about 12 more sheets!  I was inspired to create this layout with a sketch from Creative Scrappers, The design and use of a really long title really made me want to give it a try.  I really do love being a 30's something girl, I always wanted to be an adult!  Life is good.

This is a photo is from a craft fair that I participated in with my crafty friends Sheila and Brandi.  We had a great time!  I was inspired to create this layout from a sketch over at Artful Delight, I loved the strips of paper!  I was so excited to put on the little white die cut camera on this layout, I wanted to use but I want to hoard it because it so darn cute!

We still have a few FITkits in stock, get yours now over at Paper Issues!  When they are gone they are gone!

Circles! (Birds Of A Feather)

Its back to school time and Birds Of A Feather is hosting an online Back To School Crop on their forum!  The Design Team has come up with several fun challenges to get your creative juices flowing!

One of my challenges is to use primarily one shape on your layout, such as circles, hexagons, triangles, etc.  Here is my sample layout with circles.

I just love this photo of Cole after his last baseball game of the season - he has an adorable little smirk on his face!  I dug deep in to my scraps an found a punch that went well together and punched a ton of different sized circles.  I randomly glued them down and ta-da!  But I just love the eclectic look of this layout and that little smirk! :)

Head on over to Birds Of A Feather's Back to School Crop and join in the fun!

Get A Litte Messy (Birds of a Feather)

I know we are constantly telling our kids to not be so messy but sometimes they have the right idea!  Not everything has to be in perfect alignment and order - its ok to be a little messy from time to time.

I took the messy approach to this layout I created with the September kit from Birds Of A Feather.  I started off with some random mist splatter (paint and mist is a must for the messy look!), I followed that up by some papers that were just scraps for a previous layout and arranged them with a few tags behind my photo - no plan just put then down (see I am living on the edge!)

You will notice that the strips of paper at the top and bottom of the layouts are completely uneven!  Eek! But it give the layout a different look! Lastly I randomly sprinkled some fun embellishments including a negative space heart.

I have to confess that I am a neat and organized person in my real life but I could get use to this fun messy look in my scrapbooking!  Give it a try and you may be surprised you have messy wild side! :)

52 Weeks 52 Recipes

I am really excited to share a few new recipes with you this week!  It was a very tasty week at our house!

This was a great stew that just simmered all day!  I did not use stew meat in this because I had left of pork loin form the night before that I wanted to use up.  It worked just as well as raw stew meat, I just did not cook it as long.

This is my favorite new diner!  I love cheese, chicken and broccoli and when its all together its just yummy!  I was really attracted to this recipe because there was no can of 'cream of something' in it.  I am not big fan of those creamy soups.  I used club crackers instead of ritz and thought it was just amazing!  I highly recommend this one!!!

Enjoy!
